Getting Better Already

My merciful husband came home early from work tonight, and our family night consisted of me going away all by myself for few hours while he played with the kids. Trust me, it was a better family night than we would have had otherwise. Sometimes being unorthodox and listening to your screaming, crying spirit wins out over everything else. Tonight was one of those times.

  1. is there a unmarried or child free Sister or brother (or inlaws) that you could fly out to help you?

Call you temple and put your own name on the prayer rolls!

  2. I LOVE merciful husbands who come home early! I try not to pull that one on my husband too much, but I have called him in tears before and asked that he come home RIGHT NOW! And bless his heart, he has actually done just that at least twice.

This last time I did it, he came home and I struggled up to bed to rest. When I woke up, the entire downstairs was clean, the table set, and dinner ready to go.

I burst into tears, and sobbed into my husband’s shoulder saying, “Thank you, thank you, thank you,” over and over again. He looked perplexed, and said, “Wow, if all I have to do to get your undying gratitude is to come home early, straighten up the living room and make dinner, I should do it more often!”

Sadly, that is all he has to do to get my undying gratitude. I should hold out for more, I guess, but it’s just not all that convincing.
