Yeah… I saw that on MMW…. so crazy! Have you contacted the principal? I went and looked at my 3rd grader’s list… hardest words on there? cousin, guess, different, favorite and beautiful
Let us know how this plays out, eh?
Oh my heck, that makes me SO SCARED for my kids!
Just remember while you are in your “fight” that most of the teachers that I have run into when confronting their syllabus have been very upset that I question their curriculum. Don’t let that get in your way. I am sure if you asked the other parents, you would find some of them feel the same way you do. The other ones that don’t are the ones with “perfect gifted children who never do anything wrong” and of course they are already on the waiting list for Harvard (and probably drug rehab a little later too ;)) Don’t give up or back down!
I’m interested to see how all this turns out. Good luck with the crazy teacher. Hopefully the other staff will be a little more sane.
Yikes-a-bee.
Can’t wait to hear the results!
*drumming fingers on the desk*….
This is so wrong. I would definitely be spending some time in that classroom trying to figure out what is going on.
This can’t be normal! I know we live relatively near each other, although I don’t know if we are in the same school district, but my daughter who is also in the first grade is not learning how to spell these obscenely difficult words!
