Comicon and Skirting the Subcults

I think this officially moves us from “fans” into FanGeeks. I took the kids to Comicon 2010 today, and Abby went in full Vader regalia. These other Fans actually asked to have their picture made with her- and they weren’t the only one. She got serious hi-fives and props for being the ONLY four-year old and ONLY girl dressed as Lord Vader. People thought it was awesome. Mostly because IT IS!

Then the Tuscan Raider wanted to get in on the Girl Vader action. She was very proud. Someone even kicked down and gave us all Star Wars t-shirts after they took her picture. For FREE! Because my four-year old has a following now. Mo will have to explain what all this means.

  1. It means *sniff* I’m sorry, I’m just too choked with emotion at the awesomeness of the moment to speak. Talk amongst yourselves…..
So ridiculously bummed we couldn’t go this year. Stupid “responsibility”. It’s okay though, I KNOW you’re coming over for next year’s in Seattle!!

  2. I’m so glad you guys had such a good time! I really hoped you would get a kick out of it… Geeks!

  3. This experience has AWESOME written all over it! I bet Abby just basked in all that attention. And your boys look like they enjoyed it, too. Fun times!

  4. Some people read on-line when everyone is asleep to hide bad things from their families. I read early to hide things like this from my star wars addicted daughter. She would be so jealous!

  5. My 7 year old daughter loves Star Wars too and has since she was 4. I love it. I’m going to make her some amigurumi Star Wars characters for her birthday. We went to Disney recently and they were doing the Jedi training school and she and her cousin were jumping up and down screaming to get picked. The Jedi master only picked one girl along with about 15 boys. 😦 I was so mad.
