My very favorite annunciation. Words fail. Probably because I am up too late and I have done too much today. This is like a little touch of unexpected grace to me, that reminds me that I’ll survive tomorrow intact. Thank you and I hope you are intact come tomorrow’s bedtime too.
MD, me too. My very favorite. Merry Christmas.
Who painted this lovely picture?
Henry Ossawa Tanner, 1898. Isn’t it lovely? Its dear to my heart.
Thank you! I can’t quit looking at it.
Lovely, as I hope your day is.
I’ve never seen such a portrayal of Mary where she is at her most vulnerable. That complete innocence, wonder, and “am I good enough for this? Why me?”. Thanks for sharing this. Merry, peaceful, happy Christmas!
That is a breathtaking picture. Literally. Merry Christmas! Take a nap.
Merry Christmas, hope you and your kids had a wonderful day!!
Love, love, love the picture!!
I love being introduced to new (new to me) art through blogging friends. This and Brian Kershishnik’s Nativity are two favs I wouldn’t have found otherwise!
